Competition Terms & Conditions

  1. Promoter
    This prize draw is organised and promoted by Mearns Community Radio Ltd (“the Promoter”).
  2. Eligibility
    • The competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 years or over at the time of entry.
    • Employees, contractors, volunteers, and members of the Promoter, and their immediate families or households, are not eligible to enter.
    • The Promoter reserves the right to verify the eligibility of entrants and may require such information as it reasonably considers necessary for this purpose.
  1. How to Enter
    • To enter, participants must send an email to win@mearnsfm.org.uk.
    • Entries must be received no later than 5:00pm (BST) on 14 May (“Closing Date”).
    • Only one entry per person is permitted. Multiple entries may result in disqualification.
    • Entries that are incomplete, late, misdirected, or corrupted will not be accepted.
  1. The Prize
    • The prize consists of two tickets to see Hannah Anders live at O’Donahues, Aberdeen on Sunday 17 May.
    • The prize is non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and no cash alternative will be offered.
    • The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with one of equal or greater value if circumstances beyond its control make this necessary.
  1. Winner Selection
    • One winner will be selected at random from all valid and eligible entries received before the Closing Date.
    • The draw will take place as soon as reasonably practicable after the Closing Date.
  1. Winner Notification and Claiming the Prize
    • The winner will be notified via the email address used to enter.
    • If the winner does not respond within 24 hours of notification, or is unable to accept the prize, the Promoter reserves the right to select an alternative winner.
    • The Promoter’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  1. Publicity
    • By entering, the winner agrees to the use of their name and general location (e.g. town/city) for promotional purposes without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.
  1. Event Conditions
    • Attendance at the event is subject to the venue’s terms and conditions.
    • The Promoter is not responsible for any changes to, postponement, or cancellation of the event.
    • Any additional costs incurred (including but not limited to travel, accommodation, or refreshments) are the responsibility of the winner.
  1. Limitation of Liability
    • To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Promoter shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury suffered by any entrant arising out of or in connection with this competition or the use of the prize.
    • Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, or for any other liability which cannot be excluded under Scots law.
  1. Data Protection
    • Personal data supplied by entrants will be processed in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
    • Data will be used solely for the administration of this competition and will not be retained longer than necessary.
  1. General
    • The Promoter reserves the right to amend, suspend, or withdraw the competition at any time where it becomes necessary to do so due to circumstances beyond its control.
    • If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these Terms and Conditions, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude an entrant from participating.
    • These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Scotland, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
