For the first two weeks, you could win a set takeaway meal for two, worth £30.

Terms and Conditions

1. Promoter

The promoter of this competition is Mearns Community Radio Ltd, Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire (“Mearns FM” or “the Station”).

2. Competition Overview

“Free Food Friday” is a weekly on-air competition giving listeners the chance to win a complimentary food offer provided by a participating local restaurant or food business.

3. How to Enter

3.1 Entry details and instructions will be broadcast on the Mearns FM Drivetime Show, weekdays between 4:00pm and 6:00pm.
3.2 Listeners must follow the entry method described on air.
3.3 Entries must be received within the timeframe stated during the broadcast.
3.4 Only one entry per person per week is permitted unless otherwise stated.

4. Eligibility

4.1 The competition is open to UK residents aged 18 or over, unless otherwise specified.
4.2 Mearns FM members, volunteers, staff, contractors, and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.
4.3 Mearns FM reserves the right to verify eligibility and may require proof of identity or age.

5. Winner Selection and Notification

5.1 The winner will be selected at random or by the method described on air.
5.2 The winner will be announced on the Friday Drivetime Show.
5.3 Winners may also be contacted directly using the details provided at entry.
5.4 If a winner cannot be contacted or does not respond within a reasonable time, Mearns FM reserves the right to select an alternative winner.

6. The Prize

6.1 The prize each week consists of a food offer supplied by a participating local restaurant or food provider.
6.2 Each prize is subject to the specific terms and conditions of the participating restaurant, including (but not limited to):

• expiry dates
• booking requirements
• availability
• exclusions
• dietary or menu restrictions

6.3 Prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash or alternative items.
6.4 Mearns FM reserves the right to substitute a prize with one of equal or greater value if necessary.

7. Restaurant Responsibility

7.1 The participating restaurant is solely responsible for fulfilling the prize.
7.2 Any enquiries, complaints, or issues regarding the food offer must be directed to the participating restaurant and not Mearns FM.
7.3 Mearns FM accepts no responsibility for the quality, availability, or experience of the prize provided.

8. Publicity

8.1 By entering, winners agree to the use of their first name, general location, and/or photograph for promotional and publicity purposes without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.

9. Data Protection

9.1 Personal data will be used solely for administering the competition and contacting winners.
9.2 Data will be handled in accordance with Mearns FM’s privacy policy and will not be shared with third parties except where necessary to deliver the prize.

10. Liability

10.1 Mearns FM accepts no responsibility for:

• lost, delayed or incomplete entries
• technical or network failures
• any loss, damage or injury arising from acceptance or use of the prize

10.2 Nothing in these terms limits liability where it cannot legally be excluded.

11. General

11.1 Mearns FM reserves the right to amend, suspend, or withdraw the competition at any time if circumstances beyond its control make this unavoidable.
11.2 The Station’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
11.3 These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Scotland.
