Mearns FM Beyond The Microphone – Saturday 26 September 2026 12 – 1PM – Too Soon For Tinsel?
Win a family/friends’ trip on the Polar Express™ Train Ride at Caledonian Railway, Brechin with Mearns FM’s Too Soon For Tinsel feature on Beyond The Microphone, presented by Maxine Smith and Eve Whitehead.
1. The Prize
There is one prize available:
Four (4) Standard tickets for the Caledonian Railway Polar Express™ Train Ride at Brechin, with a stated total prize value of £131.61.
The winner may choose one train journey from the following available dates and departure times only:
Saturday 28 November 2026
- 12:00 noon
- 2:00pm
- 4:00pm
- 6:00pm
Sunday 29 November 2026
The four tickets must be used together by four people travelling as one group on the same date and at the same departure time.
Tickets cannot be split, transferred, exchanged, resold or redeemed for cash.
There is no cash or alternative prize available.
Only the dates and departure times specifically listed above are available as part of this prize draw. No other Polar Express™ dates or departure times are included.
The prize is subject to the terms, conditions and availability applicable to the Caledonian Railway Polar Express™ Train Ride.

2. Who can enter
The prize draw is open to residents of Scotland aged 18 years or over, except employees, volunteers, presenters, directors and immediate family members of Mearns Community Radio Ltd t/a Mearns FM, and anyone professionally connected with the organisation or the administration of this prize draw.
Mearns FM reserves the right to verify the eligibility of the winner.
3. How to enter
Entry is free, apart from any standard telecommunications charge applicable to the method of entry.
Entries must be received by 11:00am on Saturday 26 September 2026.
There are three ways to enter:

Only entries received through these three entry routes will be accepted.
Entries received after 11:00am on Saturday 26 September 2026 will not be included in the draw.
Mearns FM cannot accept responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed, incomplete, illegible or not successfully received for any reason.
4. The prize draw
One winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries received before the closing time.
The winner will be drawn at random from the valid entries and will be announced during Mearns FM Beyond The Microphone – Too Soon For Tinsel? special feature on Saturday 26 September 2026, at approximately 12:45pm.
The winner will also be contacted directly using the contact details supplied with their entry.
5. Claiming the prize
The winner must respond to Mearns FM within a reasonable period following notification in order to confirm acceptance of the prize and provide any information reasonably required to arrange prize fulfilment.
If Mearns FM is unable to contact the winner, or the winner does not respond within a reasonable period, Mearns FM reserves the right to select another eligible winner at random.
The prize will be provided subject to the applicable terms and conditions of Caledonian Railway.
6. Winner announcement
The winner’s name may be announced on air during Beyond The Microphone.
Mearns FM will seek the winner’s permission before publishing their name or other identifying information on its website or social media channels.
7. Personal information
Information supplied by entrants will be used by Mearns FM for the purposes of administering this prize draw, contacting the winner and arranging fulfilment of the prize.
Personal information will not be used for unrelated marketing purposes unless the entrant has separately provided appropriate consent.
Mearns FM will handle entrants’ personal information in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation and its Privacy Policy.
8. General conditions
Entry into the prize draw constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
Mearns FM reserves the right to disqualify any entry that it reasonably believes does not comply with these Terms & Conditions or that is fraudulent, incomplete or otherwise invalid.
The prize is as described and there is no cash alternative or alternative prize.
The prize is non-transferable and cannot be sold or exchanged.
Mearns FM is not responsible for any additional costs associated with taking up the prize, including travel to or from Brechin, food, accommodation or any other personal expenses.
Mearns FM reserves the right to amend, suspend or withdraw the prize draw where circumstances outside its reasonable control make this necessary. Any such change will be communicated as clearly as reasonably possible.

This prize is provided in connection with the Caledonian Railway Polar Express™ Train Ride at Brechin.
Caledonian Railway is not responsible for the administration of this Mearns FM prize draw and is not responsible for selecting the winner.
The prize is subject to Caledonian Railway’s own terms and conditions and operational requirements.
